The Big Move

It has been one of the most challenging times faced by the Haven staff, the move from the old complex into the new building has been a logistical nightmare.
There has been so much work going on with alterations to the new building, construction of the aviaries and the gift shop the relocation of birds, fish and plants.

We are now at a stage of re-opening to the public although there is much still to do.

View of the building at the time of purchase, things were very run down and it seemed like the amount of work required to get the place ready would be impossible.
The outside was overgrown and strewn with old cars and other junk while the inside needed to be completely altered with many new walls and rooms to be added.
The floor was on several different levels and ramps had to be installed to allow for wheelchair access.
The building now, looking much tidier and sporting a nice new coat of paint and fresh sign writing.
New windows and doors have now been fitted improving the natural light, interior painting is finished and the clear roofing installed.
The new aviaries are nearing completion with many of the birds happy in their new home, work on the outdoor gardens is progressing well and the new gift shop is ready for customers.
